Before City Council provides comment to the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources on a proposal by BP Canada Energy Company and the Elk Valley Coal Partnership to obtain rights for the exploration of coalbed gas in the Crowsnest Coalfield, they would like to hear from the community about the proposal.
A public meeting on the matter will be held at the City of Fernie Community Centre on Highway #3 in Fernie on Monday April 7, 2008 from 7:00PM to 10:00PM. Those who attend will have the opportunity to listen to presentations from a panel and to comment on the proposal.
