Last night the EKCCU Community Award was given to the Elk Valley Hospice. $12,500 was awarded after the hospice received the most votes. Fernie Credit Union members were all eligible to vote for their favourite organizations.
Other organizations that made it through to the voting process were the Fernie Car Share Co-op, Fernie Mountain Bike Club, Fernie Museum and the Cemetery Restoration Society. The runner up organizations all received consolation prizes from $1000-$250 based on the amount of votes they received.
