Be ready to be impressed.
Six accomplished artists from the Scarlet Pine Arts Guild, based in the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, will display their work at The Arts Station from July 1, to August 4, 2007.
The show, entitled ‘Eye on the Eastern Slopes’ will lift your Spirits. The artists have captured in various mediums, the spectacular surroundings of the Eastern Rockies, as viewed from Southern Alberta.
An Opening Reception to meet the artist’s will start the show July 1, between 12 - 3pm. So, if you are enjoying Fernie on Canada Day, stop by the Arts Station, in the Historic Downtown and see some outstanding art.
Jeanne Allen, the show coordinator, will have a number of works on display, in a variety of mediums. Her work has often been inspired by her extensive travels across Canada and life in the Burmis Valley below the Livingstone Mountain Range.
Jean Blackall, who has art in Canadian corporation collections and in Saudi, works Acrylic and Watercolour. Walter Grey, an avid photographer, who also has his work in corporate and private collections , will be showing various two dimensional art that represent his talent. Having lived in Fernie, Bev Hey knows the beauty of the landscape in the area. She captures that beauty through her ‘media of preference’ watercolor. Sculpture in, wood, stone and oils on canvas are just some of the interesting material for the artist Franz Koci. He has his work in collections Canada, US, Europe and Japan. Yurek Panek, heralding from Poland, focuses his attention on buildings, landscapes and street scenes in his colourful and strong style. He will be exhibiting works in oils and watercolour.
From a broad horizon, these artists bring a fresh and vital perspective to their show. We can highly recommend that you make the visit to The Arts Station for an exciting show.
