How did The Arts Station become The Arts Station? A month-long celebration of the beginnings of arts and culture in Fernie are highlighted by archival photos and the personal accounts of the stresses, sweat and humour that went into turning the old, dilapidated station into the proud building of today. Follow the single idea of a small group as it emerges from pipe dream into a reality.
The Arts Station will be open for the Columbia Basin Culture Tour and is ecstatic to be able to walk guests through our current exhibit, The Arts Station 20th Anniversary: A Retrospective.
Staff will be on hand to answer questions and highlight all of the fascinating stories behind the development of arts and culture in Fernie. While at The Arts Station remember to pick up a brochure and check out all of the local artist participants as well as others in the Columbia Basin!
Tours available Saturday and Sunday, August 14 and 15, 9am to 3pm.
Exhibit runs until August 24th.
