Community Appreciation Season

Please Mr Mosteller, can we have a Community Appreciation SEASON next year so that in 2008/09 you appreciate the communities in which you operate for the whole time and not just one day. That'd be lovely.

To recognise that many locals buy Season Passes (although with your super-inflated prices, reduced services, one day shorter midweek pass, removal of seniors discounts at Fernie, plus to top it off the shorter season and killing of Spring skiing, I have no idea how many people still bother) instead of offering a free day, why not give the option of a 10% reduction in pass prices to those locals who commit to using your hill throughout the season?

Now there's a silly idea.

The value of a gesture and the motivation behind it...

Snowboardr, while I get where you are coming from on this, they kinda already do offer the 10% reduction, however it's available to everyone, not just locals. By purchasing a season pass at the early bird rate or getting a Louise card before Dec 26th, you get a discount anyway - but then so does everyone else. Most businesses in town offer a special "locals discount" that's only available if you live here, and I think most folk would appreciate that way more from RCR than a single free day, which is useless to anyone who has bought a pass already and of little interest to most of the rest of the community who don't ski (although the PR value for RCR must be huge). Yup, there's a handful of people who will take the free day, but mostly they are the folks that can no longer afford a pass, so they don't really feel very appreciated I'd say.

i look forward to cashing in on this day

I always look forward to cashing in on this day.

I pickup my pass and turn around and sell it at a discounted rate.

I make someones day, and get beer money for myself (not to be spent at any rcr run establishment obviously ;)
