Before you put your cross country skis away for the year there is still one more even that you don't want to miss!!
On Saturday, April 3, 2010 the end of year fun race and lunch is happening at Island Lake Lodge.
This event will include a ride up and down in a snowcat, a relay race around the lodges for kids, a race around the lake for adults, and a delicious lunch provided by Island Lake Lodge. Plus there will be prizes!!!
Schedule:
10:00 am snowcats leave from the parking lot to bring people up to the lodge
11:00 am kids race starts
11:30 am adults race starts
12:30 pm prizes and lunch (burger lunch provided by Island Lake Lodge - to include a kid and vegetarian option).
2:00 pm snowcats bring people back down to the parking lot
Costs:
Jackrabbit kids: FREE
Fernie Nordic Society Member Adults: $35
Non-Member Adults: $45
Non-Member Kids: $10
Lunch only (you're fit and you want to ski up instead of taking the cat): $15
Payments must be made by March 26th so we can determine how many Snowcats will be required.
How to pay: Go to the Fernie Nordic Society website: www.fernienordic.com and look for the box that says "Make a Donation". From here you can select "Other" and enter the appropriate amount for your ticket(s). Print a receipt and bring it to the event. Directions to Island Lake Lodge Parking Lot: Drive South from Fernie on Hwy 3. Turn right on Mt Fernie Park Rd (it's across from the Stanford Inn and there is a sign for Island Lake Catskiing). Follow this road to where it ends in a big parking lot (past the provincial park).
