The exhibit ‘Natural Transformations’ shows at The Arts Station, Fernie, August 4 - September 8

Saturday, August 4, brings a spectacular show to the Gallery by one of Fernie’s talented local artists, Laura Nelson. She will be presenting new paintings in acrylics entitled “Natural Transformations”. This new body of work celebrates the colour, rhythm and energy of nature’s splendor.

Join Laura for the Opening Reception Saturday August 11th 7-10 pm. with live Celtic music performed by “Pickled Thistle”.

Living in Fernie for many years and enjoying the beauty of her surroundings she says “I've always been greatly inspired and humbled by the transformative healing, even spiritual forces of the forests and mountains. Painting enables me to explore this transformative magic through the process of my work. We can become over-civilized, transforming our surroundings to meet our ever increasing needs. Realizing that it is ourselves that can be transformed by the simplicity and beauty found in our natural landscape is restorative”.

The Arts Station is located at 601-1st. Avenue, in the Historic Downtown Fernie and is open 10am – 4 pm weekdays (and on week-ends when the Blue Toque restaurant is open).
