Fernie and District
Historical Society
Presents:
Gone In 90 Minutes -
The Centennial of the
Great Fernie Fire
July 28 to August 27
At the Arts Station
A whole city destroyed in the 90
minutes, burnt down by a raging
fire that struck the valley on the
afternoon of August 1st 1908.
Now, one hundred years later,
the marks of the Great Fire are
still evident across the Elk Valley.
One of Fernie’s defining historical
events is explored in this new
and interactive exhibit. Running
for the month of August ( July
28th- August 27th) the historical
society invites you to come down
to the Art Station and uncover
some of Fernie’s fiery past.
Don’t Forget
Young Historians!
Come out every Wednesday during
the exhibit any time between 10am-
4pm to learn some interesting facts,
