Fernie Alpine Resort hosts the ultimate challenge for hard core climbers! The annual Lost Boys Lungbuster builds in tradition as it draws out endurance bikers from the region. This incredible endurance-testing, sweat-drawing event starts at the base area and climbs to the top of the Timber Express Chairlift - 2100 vertical feet! Competitor registration is now open with entry forms available online at www.skifernie.com or at Guest Services starting opening weekend (June 27). The race starts at 9:30am and is followed by a delicious brunch (included with competitor registration) and awards at the Lost Boys Café. Last year's winner was Geoff Clark from Calgary, AB. Geoff completed the climb in an amazing 40mins and 35secs. Sign up today if you are up for the challenge!
Not up for the grueling workout? Come on out as spectator and watch this spectacular feat by our brave competitors! Spectators can load the chairlift immediately following race start and must have a valid lift pass. It will be worth the visit to Fernie Alpine Resort with a ride up the scenic Timber Express chairlift to the Lost Boys Café where the energy and cheers from spectators will be needed to help exhausted competitors cross the finish line. The fun doesn't end there because all guests are invited to watch the awards ceremony and join the competitors for the Lost Boys Lungbuster brunch for $9.99+tax. Stay for the afternoon and relax at the café while enjoying beautiful views of the Elk Valley and listening to live music by Rick Voisey from 11:30am - 2:30pm.
