MEMORIAL SERVICE
In Sparwood at 11am on Sunday January 4th.On behalf of the City of Fernie, our heartfelt condolences and sympathy go out to the families and friends of the men who perished in the recent avalanche disaster.
The communities of Sparwood and Fernie have always been close. As such, the City of Fernie will be providing bus transportation to Sparwood for the memorial service for those who would like to attend.
Please take the bus to help avoid traffic congestion. Dress for an outside ceremony. Buses will leave Fernie Aquatic Centre promptly at 9:45am on Sunday.
For those who prefer to stay in Fernie or are unable to travel to Sparwood, the Memorial Service will also be broadcast live at the Fernie Community Centre. Doors open at 10am on Sunday January 4th.
The Service will also be broadcast on local channel 10.
We hope that these small gestures will help the communities of Sparwood and the Elk Valley to find comfort in the company of friends and family.
