Think Tank Cinema presents: '49 Megawatts' and 'Power Play'
Come join us on Monday, October 20th at 7pm at the Arts Station for the first movie presentation of the Think Tank season.
As the world begins to acknowledge the need to curb greenhouse gas emissions, British Columbia is responding with an aggressive push for private hydro projects. Under the guise of "green power", hundreds of rivers are being given away to developers without proper assessment. Check out our double feature that will explore this relevant local topic. Join white-water kayaker, Bryan Smith as he takes us up close with the scenic canyons of the Ashlu River and exposes concerns about the future of BC's watersheds.
Think Tank Cinema screens thought-provoking movies and documentaries covering current social and environmental issues.
Screenings will occur at the Arts Station every third monday of each month October 08 through April 09 starting at 7pm, and are by donation.
