Helly Hansen has announced its schedule for the popular Big Mountain Battle series with three additional stops, including: Taos Ski Valley Resort, Revelstoke Mountain Resort and Fernie Alpine Resort.
These renowned races challenge two-person teams to an intense, three-hour-long big-mountain course. First-place finishers will win an all-expense-paid trip to Aspen/Snowmass where they’ll represent their local mountain in the final Battle in the Bowls on March 28, 2010.
The top three teams will be awarded prizes from Helly Hansen, Thule, Powder, Dakine, GoPro Cameras and Smith Optics. Competitors can also win other categories, including Fastest Hike, Most Vertical, Most Runs and Most Lift Rides.
“Last year’s Big Mountain Battle Series was a huge success,” said Marshall Rutman, Helly Hansen’s North American marketing manager. “It’s a truly unique event that will challenge skiers and snowboarders of all levels. I’m excited to have Taos, Revelstoke and Fernie added to the schedule and look forward to further expanding the series in 2011.”
The Revelstoke race will be held Jan. 16; Taos, Feb. 6; Fernie, Feb. 13; CA’s Squaw Valley, Feb 20; B.C.’s Sun Peaks, Feb. 27; WA’s Stevens Pass, Mar. 13; and VT’s Smugglers’ Notch, Mar. 20. The final Battle in the Bowls will take place in Aspen/Snowmass on March 28.
