best thing is to put a tree between yourself and the moose and move around to keep the tree between you and the moose. The moose gets bored and takes off pretty quick.

I always have dogs so we just turn around and leave in a safe direction. Many times I have had moose stand their ground on a trail and nothing will make them move until I pull out my camera and try to take a picture of them. Like magic they are gone.

Seriously? Are they camera shy? Could it be to do with the infra-red light beamed out by the auto-focus on your camera? Could there be commercial potential in an infra-red anti-moose device....?

Well I shall arm myself with a TV remote control next time I'm out on the trails anyway, just in case I can turn off the charging moose with its magic rays.
