If there are any cross country skiers out there waiting for snow, conditions are surprisingly good at the base of Cedar Bowl. Today I ran a track up Cedar Trail with my skinny skis, crossing lower Cedar Bowl and continuing on up Red Tree Road to the high point above Fish Bowl. The 800 metre loop at the base of Cedar Bowl is great for doing laps and the occasional moose adds to the experience. There's even a brand new washroom at the base of Haulback T. I dropped off a suggestion with RCR to track set this route while the downhill skiing is closed, but note that until RCR officially sanctions it, any activity in the area is "Use at Own Risk". Sure, it's a humble outing when we're all anxious for snow but it beats sitting around complaining and is worthwhile doing every day until the resort opens. See you out there.
