why doesn't OurFernie just be the DMO, they seem to be doing everything that the DMO should be doing by now

legalities perhaps? I have a feeling there won't be much happening this winter season with the DMO.

My understanding is that very quietly the city council decided to include a "line item" in their budget for the next 5 years of $50,000.00 per year for the DMO, I stand to be corrected, maybe one of the councillors or mayor or clarify that for everybody.

I think you are right Dave, (not sure about the amount though) The mayor and council have mentioned this on a few occasions.

Thanks Sanook, much appreciated.

OurFernie put in a proposal last summer to run the fulfillment contract for the dmo which would include the web site, call centre and reservations. There were two companies shortlisted but unfortunately OurFernie wasn't one of them.

While we were very disappointed, we're going to keep going and will continue trying to contribute positively in whatever way we can.
