Not sure what was offered as the opener but I think you will find that there are some really nice lunch specials, we have been pleasantly surprised.
Sure there is deep fried food as well but keep in mind it is a pub. My last meal was a roast turkey with apple and havarti and homemade soup on the side which was very reasonable....$7 or thereabout.
I try and stay away from the platters everywhere myself but give some of their lunches a try, I think you will find there is much more than deep fried stuff with dip.....
It is one of the few downtown restaurants to stay open everyday serving hot meals.......
