Ok, so far as RCR gripes go, this is really low down on the scale, but could whoever writes the snow reports PLEASE stop it with "gnar". It's just really starting to grate. And shredding the gnar gnar pow pow just sounds brutally silly.

Today, the snow reports proudly proclaims: "GNAR n. the surface you ski/ride on. ie. shred the gnar"

While the guru of this kind of stuff (urbandictionary.com) does give 194 thumbs up to the definition of "gnar" being "the white stuff", it also gives 118 down.

For the *real* definition - "A shortened version of the word gnarly, meaning high on the scale of dangerousness and coolness. Often used among the skateboard crowd" - there are 317 up and only 32 down.. so it's gotta be right, right?

Does anyone outside of the snow report people actually really honestly refer to snow as "gnar".

ARGH.

word association and your little "teddy bears picnic" song could be considered "brutally silly" as well snoboardr. Have a gnarley day.
