seems that the BC libs have got a crew of their paid staffers ready to react to anything on the web. here and elsewhere. JTK and Moeman, and maybe even schoolyard seem to have popped up on ourfernie and are desperately trying to help the man from ontario, Bill Bennett, hold onto his seat in Kootenay east. Nice try for a last ditch effort. But really it is hopeless. troy has this one hands down! Snow Valley News - Fernie News, Blogs, Forums and Classifieds |

I guess you're right Troy is the only canidate that really is from here, being first nations...cool, a what is a "local" coming up again, Troy's got me and Bill beat hands down, you too Sanook.
BTW I can speak for myself as to not being paid... But we are all going to pay if your man "from here" gets in. Didn't he run in Vernon last try around?

5 weeks (schoolyard), 1 hours (moeman), 11 hours (JTK)...Membership does have it's privileges, like slagging the NDP. While I do think it necessary that all shall have a voice, especially during an election, I wonder why, if our NDP candidate takes the time to post information about the Liberal Party, why Bill Bennett does not do the same. Is he too busy tying flies and making shotgun shells?

That almost sounds racist

definitely racist JTK, and very low. Is this the Liberal tactic?

really? refrence to how many generations anyone or family has been here has been a ridiculous and irrelevant competition (remember our civic election) since I moved here, so the refrence is to the "man from Ontario" comment...please read back and get context..

I didn't take it in that way - I thought the point was that first nations people were here before all of us were...
sanook brought up the fact that Bill is originally from Ont as though that is a bad thing - he has been in the Kootenays for 18 yrs....I think when someone has lived here as long as Bill and raised a family, it seems odd to keep bringing up the fact that he came from Ontario
I was not born here but I have lots of passion for the community......
Bill works very hard, is persistent and gets results...bottom line for me.

Thanks, the longevity and generational "local" thing is ridiculous as First nations have everyone else beat if it were a comepetition exactly was my point. I apologize if I offended anyone it wasn't intended or spiteful.
the other point was, if his heart was here why was he running in Vernon in 2001? or was that another Troy Sebastian?

yo, Im not paid, and Im not Bill. hahaha
To be honest, I was inspired to post more content on Ourfernie because many people expressed to me that they thought Ourfernie was a Wildsight site and refused to visit it, so I thought I'd throw on some content to balance it out
(it being a community site, right????), it kinda grew from there.
Im more then happy to help the liberal campaign out where ever I can, its my right and I dont appriciate the bullying. If I ask a question or offer a rebuttal I shouldnt be afraid to do so, and Im not. Im extremely passionate about Fernie. I create jobs, support local business, spend lots of money in restaurants and shops, and fundraise thousands of dollars for charities in my spare time. I was born and raised in Cranbrook, so the Kootenays are very near and dear to me. I guess you can take the girl outta Cranbrook, but you cant take the Cranbrook outta the girl, now pass me a kokanee and relax.

I get where you are coming from JTK but ancestry shouldn't really play into this.
There are a few things that really irk me about Bennett and the BC Liberals. First, his campaign "He's one of Us" where he is pictured hunting or riding an ATV, etc. He must think very little of his constituents to think that this type of campaign is what will won him votes. I think it's insulting.
Second, someone in his position should not be writing letters such as he did to his constituents and the fact that he constructed that letter over a period of two days makes it even worse. Anyone with that much ego needs a reality check.
And, coming from living out east for twenty years where I truly believe in and support the Liberal party both on a provincial and federal level, how can the BC Liberals honestly say they are Liberal? They are conservative, and they should call it like it is.
