I don't work there or have any inside information but i'm pretty sure they are not going out of business. From what I have seen aren't all the shops in town having year-end blowout sales? What makes Guides Hut any different?
letter in the mail (everyone's, this morning, extra copies on the door) made it sound a bit more final than that.. from what I remember they've 'done what they achieved to do' and were 'thanking people for their support'.
But then they are having a $1000 prize draw for coming to the shop and bringing the l1etter with you, which doesn't make them sound like they're going bust or anything.
UPDATE: They're not going under, they're selling off their 5 year backlog of old goods

I was actually quite disappointed with the "Sale". I have been looking at getting a couple different pairs of bindings (Look Pivots, Marker Dukes and BD 01's) and the "Sale Price" sticker didn't seem any cheaper than normal. Imagine my surprise then when I walked down to Straighline, and found the exact same bindings (Look Pivots) with a "regular price" sticker for ~$100 less!

A few years back when Jason was the manager of the guides hut you could actually get a reasonable deal. This year I wanted to buy a set or Volkl Mantras. At the end of Feb, I saw them advertised in a shop in Calgary for $630ish. I went to the guides hut and asked how much. They still wanted full pop to the tune of $840. I told them of the Calgary price and offered 50 bucks more and they would not budge. I had to go to Calgary anyway so guess where I bought my skis!....yup the 'ole guides hut ain't what she used to be!
