Atleast tell the truth people. I was there,,, with maybe 75 others. Certainly not 150. And the content?? very suspect. If you are going to have rallies and then put them into print, atleast have the respect to tell the truth.

I would prefer the Wildsight boys (RN and CB) answer this question. But if they dont come clean I will answer it. Mis information can be a powerful tool and in my opinion there was a lot of disrespect to Fernie residents that took personal time to come out and support this rally/protest. Again I repeat "atleast tell the truth"

at the start there were only about 50 to 75 people. by the end there were easily 150.

the history of CBM is a de-population of the land--animal and human. BP proposes to meet standards that have never even been within half a catch for the industry.

and the CBM industry is already polluting in the valley. Why add more?

let them test the new techniques somewhere with less critical habitat.

What Lies Henry?

I heard some feedback that thousands of wells was not correct. To clarify this point BP is planning around 150 well pads, with 10 wells drilled from each pad. that could add up to over a thousand wells/holes in the ground.

What else?

Afterall they spent over 3 hours last week meeting the president of BP in Calgary. ? and yet no new information was gathered? ?BP wont answer questions? ?BP doesnt communicate? Funny that. I'll bet ya a years salary I cant get 10 minutes of this guys time, nevermind hours worth.

Wildsight clowns? Easy there compadre. Let's keep it courteous.

"I'll bet ya a years salary I can get 10 minutes of this guys time, nevermind hours worth."...yada...yada...yada...

PS: I question why you are trying to instigate not communicate.

PSS: Your query was answered by Wildsight!

You're right gearhunter, I apologise. Such comments are out of character for me and I withdraw them.
But I stick to my point that Wildsight tells half truths and lies to get the fine folks of Fernie pumped up. When we take personal time to support a good cause, the least we expect is the truth, anything else is disrespectful.

All that I've read here is an insinuation of deliberate dishonesty without any evidence. Could you elaborate on what statements you believe were half-truths and which ones were outright lies? And who made these statements?

I would be happy to, but do not want to turn this into a Wildsight bashing. Rather impress upon the folks at Wildsight that there doom and gloom message is without basis and they take advantage of the fine citizens of fernie,,, which for me is disrespectful. There is certainly a place for groups like Wildsight. Lord knows where we might be if there were not groups to help protect the enviroment,,, but they do tend to go overboard which turns some of us off and we quit listening, even when they have a legitimate comment or complaint.

Perhaps you, or someone else could tell me what was the most important message for them and then I will comment. For example telling the people that attended "it is people like you that will stop a company like BP". ya, not likely. Having been in the area for 3 or 4 years, spending millions of dollars hiring locals to conduct wildlife surveys, water surveys, identify sensitive wildlife areas and so on, I would suggest they are in it for the long haul.

If you don't want it to be a wildsight bashing, then get specific, use actual quotes and questions and stop making comments like
"liar liar pants on fire," "wildsight clowns" (which you 'withdrew' but didn't delete/edit from your post) "doom and gloom message" "respect" and "ya, not likely."

You're doing exactly what you say you dislike wildsight for.
