Well, it kinda goes like this.... instead of thinking myopically, the people of this riding have looked at the greater good. We have started to band together. We are beginning to realize that when someone else is doing well it is better for yourself. At all levels. We can celebrate others success because we see that, that success may actually lead to our own. To work and create is truly contributing to society. To grant write and look for government, (taxpayers), money is a false economy. We don't want handouts, we want opportunity. We in this area need to reassess our approach and make our own bed. We have all the attributes to do so. We do not need help from elsewhere. In the past our town and people have taken advantage of opportunity. It seems on the surface we have forgotten how to do that. This election has given me some hope. There has been a misguided belief that the long time locals are trying to keep our town in stasis. I have found that most of the long time locals are actually the most forward thinking people in our community. They have been through the ups and downs and embrace every fighting chance they get. It seems that some newcomers whose fortunes have nothing to do with the fortunes of our community are actually the ones who are trying to get in the way of others dreams and aspirations. I think that the cup is half empty mentality is coming to an end. Our area should be a far better generator of opportunity than it is. For us, for our children. I really hope and believe that our potential can be realized!

come on, give the guy a break. He was just campaigning for what he believes in and that is pretty rare. Whether you agree with him or not you have to admire his dedication.

City of Fernie took it down. The sign contained profanity, and since thats a school route it seemed inappropriate. And yes Ryland Nelson did a great job of spreading lies and fear during the campain. And he did a great job of spreading Wildsight through the election trail. But at least I'll be fishing in the Flathead for the next 4 years. Amen to that.
