OurFernie should have more regular polls, and they should allow everyone to vote on them, not just logged in users. And everybody should be able to submit polls to the site... with only admin being able to post them to the front page. What do you think? |

I personally don't disagree with allowing other people to creating polls, maybe it should go through a quick moderation process before going live? (or be unpublished if unsuitable)
If we use that approach we would likely need to add a poll menu item to allow people to access polls easily. I suppose it is a question for us to have a quick internal discussion about.
Anonymous voting is problematic on the version of the software we are currently using - but that doesn't mean that this will be the case this time next year......?

doesn't drupal 5 come with a basic poll module that supports anonymous voting?

We are using advanced poll on the site and under d5 that has some issues...

i don't think we need any advanced poll.. just a basic yes, no maybe poll should suffice.

You asked for polls.....
And now you have them - http://www.ourfernie.com/fernie-polls and you will also notice the new polls link in the left hand navigation.
Anonymous voting is a allowed but we see how that goes.
Enjoy.

the problem with the advanced poll module is that it doesn't manage anonymous voting... Anonymous voters can vote over and over again.
With the regular default drupal core poll module it records the IP address of the anonymous vote and only allows one vote from that IP.

also, anonymous voters cannot see the results of polls

Anonymous voters can now view polls but voting is disabled. The regular poll module sucks ass so I won't install it. I'll upgrade the voting api and advanced poll module at some point over the next few days.
