So......
The word on the street that RCR is not doing biking this summer
I've heard they are only using the timber chair
I've heard they are not having any man made structures
I've heard a million other stories
I post this today to find out if anybody else has heard any good RCR stories about the 2008 summer and mountain biking...

....They(RCR) don't seem to reply e-mail so I thought somebody might know the real story here on our fernie!

Given that this page ..

http://www.skircr.com/resortInfo/resorts_fernie.asp

.. on RCR's own website still has a big tick for YES Fernie *does* have a Terrain Park, then I'd hazard a guess that even RCR don't know what they're doing this summer at Fernie.

well they do "have a terrain park" it just doesn't specify that it only has rails.

I have no first hand information but RCR's aggressive cost control would make sense if they were planning to replace the faithful but dreadfully slow and greasy Elk chair with a high speed quad this summer. That could explain why only Timber chair would run during biking season. I'm crossing my fingers that this positive upgrade goes through.

Ooooh. Good thought. Considering there's been no investment in buliding new lifts for a lot of years, this would make sense.. more sense than just controlling costs to increase profits to pump into a lucrative oil business I suppose. Or maybe not. Who knows, but I like the idea.

I'm crossing my fingers too. Elk Chair is embarrassing. But I'm not holding my breath.

Exciting. A new chair perhaps. Woo hoo.

Kappa, rails are NOT "Terrain" Terrain implies jumps, rollers and such.. not big metal objects stuck in the snow.
