Reno Bin Thieves

We are homeowners in Fernie working hard to improve our old run down home that we recently purchased and have rented a reno garbage bin which sits in front of our house. Why do people feel that it is ok to dump all their household garbage in our bin? Filling it up so we have no more room to use it for our reno waste? Stalling our project and costing us money. Even being so disrespectful as to miss the bin and litter all over our front yard? It doesn’t pick up itself we have to clean up after you! We pay a daily rate and large dump fees to have the bin emptied. You are stealing from us. The City of Fernie has a free dump so it is laziness, and theft to use other people’s bins!

I witnessed a good one the other day, a lady using the bins at Isabella Dicken in broad daylight.

Come on people, it's not like we have to pay to take stuff to the dump and the garbage man comes once a week.

You could setup a webcam on your computer to catch people in the act and post a private use sign. Good luck, hopefully there won't be any more trouble.

That’s a good suggestion. Thanks for the response.

If you have an Iphone there's a great app called pocket sentry, it'll essetially turn your phone into a game/trail cam takes a picture when there's movement. Might be easier than going through hours of webcam footage.
