Hey:
pretty excited, just back from Calgary with my new sled and I am intending to forgo a ski pass this year.
My intentions are to ride my sled at the hill this year and I am looking for like minded people who don't want to pay the over inflated RCR prices. If we can forum a decent group we can shuttle up and down the hill. The only thing you are paying for with RCR is to use their lift system. The hill is mostly crown land and like Cat skiing companies RCR can not stop you from using the land.
Please contact me and lets get this together and show Murry that we don't need him or his GREED.

So what do you plan to do when you hit a skier on your nice new sled because they didn't expect some idiot to sleding on the hill. Hope you enjoy explaining that one to RCMP.

haha good luck buddy. the issue with your plan is that RCR has a liscense of occupation of the base area, not just a crown land tenure. The liscense of occupation (which is the base area) alllows them to control access. You might be able to access the crown land on the upper mountain if you came up from the backside of the ski hill and avoided the base area that they are allowed to control. But by the time you made it up there (if you could figure out how to make it up there) the entire ski area would be tracked out from the top of the new polar peak chairlift.
if you want to sled ski why would you want to ski the resort that is full of people and tracked out when you could go in the backcountry and not see anyone?
I would show you some awesome sled ski zones, but according to what you have said in another thread I am "delusional" and an "idiot" so you probably wouldn't want to follow me anywhere I go.

Ryland you are right about the base area and that is the only area RCR can control and or say anything about. Any place else is far game, say parking lot 4 or just go in from Gorb.
marcingy: if you have not noticed, on any giving day there are sleds going up and down and around on the hill ,not to mention snow cats in the morning, the RCMP can't do a thing! its CROWN Land. Besides have you ever had to go to the RCMP for help with anything, they are usually about as helpful as a sore tooth.

Em I said if you hit someone on your sled so maybe you should read before you reply. And if you hit someone it doesn't matter if it is crown land or not...it is still an offence. Actually the RCMP are vey helpful maybe the problem is with the way YOU approach things.

what ryland said...why would you want to sled the hill when there are so many more awesome places around here that are only reachable by sled? if i owned a sled, the ski hill would be the last place i'd want to go to... it kind of seems like you're trying to pick a fight out of nothing...
