Store opening hours on the long weekend?

We're thinking about visiting Fernie this weekend - actually, for the day on Monday 12 November. I know that day is a holiday - does anyone know will the stores downtown be open or will it be quiet as a morgue? I'm hoping to do a bit of perusing and shopping...

I'd be really grateful if anyone has the answer to this question.

That's a good question. I imagine it will be pretty quiet in town. It usually is on a Sunday or holiday especially at this time of year. There may be some stores open.

Thanks for the tips - sounds like it would be better to hold off until the ski season.
