UNESCO is Corrupt

Would you belong and pay dues to a foreign organization that is anti-morality and anti-marriage? If not, why do we allow Canada to use our taxpayers' money to pay dues for membership in UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)?

In 1984 Presidant Regan ending the U.S. membership in this United Nations affiliate because it was corrupt, anti-Western and a vehicle for far-left propaganda. They enjoyed a nearly 20-year splendid absence from UNESCO's expensive gatherings in Paris of foreign bureaucrats promoting globalist mischief.

Riding on the word "educational" in its name, UNESCO has adopted the pretense that it is in charge of prescribing curriculum for schoolchildren all over the world.

UNESCO's director general boasted that one of the goals is to foster "worldwide curricula reflecting UNESCO values." This fall, UNESCO has been busy writing guidelines for the teaching of sex education, supposedly in order to slow the spread of HIV-AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

In these guidelines, UNESCO tells teachers in all countries to present abstinence until marriage as "only one of a range of choices available to young people" to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Other choices would surely be more fun.

It's no surprise that the guidelines feature enthusiastic support of abortion. UNESCO's guidelines assert that teachers should discuss "advocacy to promote the right to and access to safe" abortion for students starting at age 12.

According to UNESCO, students should be taught that "legal abortion performed under sterile conditions by medically trained personnel is safe." Teachers should also discuss "emergency contraception" and how to get "access to safe abortion and post-abortion care."

Public reaction to the UNESCO sex-ed guidelines caused UNESCO to make several changes before presenting them at the UNESCO meeting in Birmingham, England, in September. However, there was no apology for the explicitness of the sex-ed curriculum -- UNESCO asserted that its guidelines are "evidence-informed and rights-based."

By that definition of corruption, I would say that mikes is corrupting this forum with his opinions

But seriously, what's the point of this thread? UNESCO is somehow corrupt because it is not anti-abortion??? Moral opinions on the subject vary, but in most democratic countries abortion is a personal choice and is not illegal.

Well if you don't mind an organization implanting their ideas into the movies an media, to spread their opinions to your children and family then don't read the link.

every organization has a bias. of those that make a stance, some take an anti-abortion stance and some take a personal choice stance.

of the two stances, the anti-abortion stance is the one that counters our notion of freedom of choice and is counter our notion of democracy. the freedom to make a choice in what you believe is paramount in our society. the pro-choice position is an umbrella that shelters both people who believe in abortion as an option and those who do not.

to make a choice one must have knowledge. the passing on of knowledge and creating an environment where someone can make an informed choice is a fundamental notion in western democracy.

so mikes, i guess the question would be, if you do not believe in the basic right to make informed choices as a foundation in western democracy, what form oif government do you prefer?

This is just more fuel on the fire. Who is really pulling the strings - I sure as hell know it's not the voters. It won't be long before we see people on mass marching in the streets.

Subsequent article and copy of treaty:

Please continue to research all aspects of what is unfolding around us - whether it is the financial situation in the US or the Lisbon Treaty & Mr Blair (the new leader of Europe) or Mr Obama being put in charge of the security council and getting a nobel peace prize (???). And of course the North American Undion that not one single voting Canadian had any say in.

This is real and it is happening...unless of course you are getting your news from Cable TV in which case anything remotely uncomfortable to think about get's diluted with stories like a phantom child in an air balloon.

Sticking your head in the sand isn't going to work this time.

The problem is when we are being deceptively manipulated and brainwashed on this or any other topic. In my opinion, it should set off an internal alarm whenever something is promoted deceptively like this. What is the real agenda?

Powwow and mikes you guys are hilarious. I love screwball conspiracy theories. Really. Do you watch Glenn Beck on Fox? Funny, but also scary because so many people believe what nut cases like him are saying.

Isn't it a pretty well-known internet theory that you shouldn't feed the trolls?
