Leaving cameras lying around might seem like an odd thing to do, but OurFernie's "Shoot Me!" experimental photography project was a huge sucess. Several cameras were tied to fences or handed around at the Taste of Fernie 2008 on both days and the results speak for themselves - lots of fun was had at this event, truly one of Fernie's favourites. Several elements were pulled together this year to create a festival atmosphere including a few new treats. The BBQ challenge with scotch tasting on Friday night was a huge hit and was sold out by 1pm that day. Saturday reflected the roots of the Taste of Fernie with favourite restaurants from all around town coming to share their best offerings, plus a few extras that spilled out into 2nd Avenue. The Mountain Market was bigger and better than ever and the entertainment program ran all day and included several theatre acts plus music to suit all tastes.
Check out the results of our camera project here which show just how much fun was had, and even a taste of events the following weekend, such as the Soapbox Derby and the 3300 club Duck race.

It took a while to gather all of the disposable cameras up and only one is still out there. If you have it or have seen it, we'd love to have it back so we can publish the photos on our site. We'll gladly pay for the processing and let you keep the disc and negatives if there are photos on the camera that you would like to keep! Please let us know at info@ourfernie.com and we will pick it up.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the first ever OurFernie "Shoot Me!" photography experiment! Watch out for our cameras at future events so you can Shoot Me! too!
