Any one of three women could have taken this award. Britt Janyk Finished with the most World Cup points, and Kelly VanderBeek had some formidable results of her own, but Emily Brydon won our nod. She and Janyk had the only two wins by Canadian women, but Janyk's came in the weather-plagued Aspen downhill. Brydon and VanderBeek had the only second-place finishes, and VanderBeek had two of them to Brydon's one, but Brydon recorded three podiums, which was one more than either of her teammates. She had five top-four results compared to three for Janyk and three for VanderBeek. Last we knew the object was to win and she did that, too. It was a close call, but Brydon is our champion.
