Last night's Indie Films Fernie presentation of "Into the Wild" was a runaway sell out. IFF presentations saw increasing numbers over the previous season, showing to a full house at the Vogue Cinema on most nights.
Sean Penn's production of Jon Krakauer's novel of the same name about the life and demise of 23 year old graduate turned wanderer Chris MacCandless was bound to recieve attention in a mountain town like Fernie, but to be virtually sold out by 6.30pm certainly took even the organisers by surprise.
The film itself was, well, I won't spoil it. Due to the enormous response and large number of dissapointed moviegoers who had to be turned away, Sean at the Vogue Theatre has generously agreed to bring "Into the Wild" back for a second showing. The date is yet to be decided, keep an eye on this site and on www.ferniemovies.com for the announcement.
