With the support of Columbia Basin Trust the Fernie Women's Centre is proud to be able to offer a FREE education and support group to parents of teens in Fernie. This group is for parents with children in grades seven to twelve.
It is an opportunity for parents with children who are at similar ages and stages to support and learn from one another. This will be a safe and confidential space for parents to talk about issues they are facing raising their children. The group will be led by a trained facilitator and will cover topics such as:
Acknowledging and appreciating our strengths as parents
• What’s great about teens
• What’s hard in our relationships with teens
• School
• Sex & Relationships
• Substance use
• Setting limits and staying close
• Co-parenting and single parenting
It will run for five Tuesdays starting November 8th-December 6th from 7:00pm-9:00pm. It will be held at Fernie Secondary School Library. There is no charge.
