Coming to terms with one's own uniqueness...
Vicki Brown: creative visionary and personal healer
Bio:
After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology at The University of Lethbridge in Alberta, and a years work abroad experience in Ireland and the UK - where she discovered the healing method of Shiatsu in a book in an old school house next to the horseback riding center she ran, which, when applied, saved her from asthma attacks - Vicki began her path into the world of the healing arts.
Vicki Brown has been practicing massage for 5 years, beginning her career path in Whistler, B.C. after completing a Certified Holistic Massage course in Vancouver, taught by Paul Crowder and Lynda Henderson; continuing on to study under Registered Massage Therapist, Jordan Strutt, owner/operator of Mountain Mobile Massage of Whistler, B.C..
During her 3 years in Whistler, when she wasn't "fixing travellers up" so they could go skiing/snowboarding the next day, on the mountain herself, rockclimbing, mountainbiking, kayaking, guiding a horseback tour, or dancing at a Full moon party, Vicki also completed Usui Reiki Levels I, II, III/Master, and attended a Huna Workshop with Stephanie Brink, Huna Master and Teacher.
Upon relocating to Vancouver in 2001, Vicki entered the Spa industry, becoming Head Bodyworker and assisting in creating signature massage treatments. Through the spa industry, Vicki became versatile in such treatments as The Hot Stone Massage, the Shirodhara, her signature Aromatherapy massage, wraps, salt glows, natural facials, Vichy Shower treatments, and the skill of pampering.
In addition, Vicki continued developing relationships with a few regular clients whose homes she went to for sessions, as well as an occassional dabble in the production industry...the crazy, wonderful, long-working souls behind the scenes, as well as actress, Laura Dern and her beautiful son.
As one of Vicki's goals was to learn two new healing modalities every year for 5 years, she also acquired the techniques of Reflexology and Acupressure and learned the technique of Thai Massage from Teacher and Practitioner, Stephanie (Bea) Labelle, here in Vancouver. In addition, Vicki continued with attending various yoga classes, as well as continuing on her own with Ashtanga yoga practice, and continued with learning and practicing of Pilates.
On the level of self-awareness, Vicki attended The Landmark Forum, The Advanced Course, The Seminar on Integrity, and The Self- Expression and Leadership Program of Landmark Education, transforming her life from one of struggle to one of unconditional love and freedom.
As well, Vicki created a goal and supports those now working towards transforming the gap between western and alternative medicine into a complimentary integrated way of life, supporting people in taking responsibility for their own health and wellness, from a holistic approach.
In regards to animal healing, as a young child, neighbours and family friends near Vicki's childhood home, often delivered injured and abandoned animals to her with a recognized respect for her natural patience and healing abilities with animals.
The path of healing has been one of personal experience...drawing first from healing the self - relief from physical injury, and emotional, mental, and spiritual healing and growth - in order to assist others in doing the same.
Experience of the magic of the universal life force energy, gain access to inspiration, love, peace, harmony, confidence, power, abundance, and true health.
